Cultural Seminar Programme
The JICC offers Cultural Seminars for various school groups and educational associations. Cultural Seminars can be arranged on many different topics of interest to students or areas of study, although requests for talks on highly specialised fields may be referred to organisations with particlar expertise in that area.
Wherever possible the Cultural Officer works with teachers to establish the theme or focus of the students' work, consolidating prior study or acting as a catalyst for a new area. Students can try on the traditional yukata, tantalise their taste buds with 'fake food' , or explore the larger than life world of sumo wrestlers and sports-loving Japan.
It is most worthwhile bringing a group into the JICC as they can see many resources and have access to the vast array of material available. Often student groups will also visit nearby Japanese restaurants to enjoy a traditional Japanese meal.
All Cultural Seminars are held free of charge, but please be aware that they are popular and availability is limited. Cultural Seminars are held for a maximum of 1 hour per group.
If you are interested in booking a Cultural Seminar please complete the booking form below and either email, fax or post the completed form to the JICC office (contact details listed on the form).
