JaruJaru in Melbournejarujaru

Introduce to JaruJaru

Live in Australia

22 April 2023

The seats at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival were filled with enthusiastic fans.
The props used in the comedy act were simple but effective, and were clearly visible from the audience.

1-hour-long comedy act was divided into about 7-8 parts, each of which was intricately intertwined and made the audience laugh. In between the skits, a native English speaker explained the situation, so the audience was never left behind.

The show was very fun and immersive with multiple funny skits that made the whole crowd laugh.

The show started with a brief introduction of JaruJaru in English and then the show started with JaruJaru playing multiple characters over multiple skits using a variety of different costumes to play these different characters and using a variety of props to add to the story. There was also a voice over between skits explaining the scene. The show ended with the positive message of “always being able to improve yourself”.

The show was very amusing with each skit having its own funny moments due to the use of repetition of certain funny phrases. The use of props made the show more real without taking away from the performance itself. I believe the show might be more interesting especially for people who can’t speak Japanese if a few words of Japanese could be included throughout the show so that they could learn some Japanese words. Overall, the show was a great experience and I would recommend that it could even be performed all over Australia.
